Holy sweet baby jesus, that wolf is wonderful!

The whole composition is very striking and powerful, but for some reason the position of the owl head throws me.. it feels a little disconnected from the line and flow of the body and the wolf.

I agree that the owl head looks kind of disconnected, but in a way that suits an owl . . . one of the reasons they look so damned surreal is their heads and necks appear to move independently of their bodies.
